Shakira Welcomes Second Child

Shakira has given birth to her second baby boy.

The singer and her long-term partner Gerard Pique welcomed their second son into the world at around 10pm last night.

The mum-of-two announced that her son Milan has now become a big brother on her website.

She also announced the name of their new addition and what it means.

The statement read: "We are happy to announce the birth of Sasha Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 29 at 9:54pm, in Barcelona.

"The name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means 'defender of mankind' and 'warrior.'

"The hospital confirmed that both mother and child are in excellent health."
