The army has tweeted this evening that they can't confirm if Chibok girls were among the 200 girls they rescued from Sambisa forest today, that they will know after they screen and profile the rescued girls. But now Reuters, AP and Al-Jazeera are reporting that an Army Spokesperson has confirmed Chibok girls are not among the 293 girls and women rescued today. Army spokesman Col. Sani Usman told The Associated Press that troops destroyed and cleared four militant camps and rescued 200 abducted girls and 93 women "but they are not the Chibok girls." Let's wait for official confirmation from Army Spokesperson, Olukolade.

News reaching us from Nigerian troops via Nigeian defence twitter handle just announced that they have found 200 girls and 93 women in Sambisa Forest, but haven't officially confirmed if the girls found are the same ones who were abducted from their school in Chibok community in April 2014. At least 5 persons have been  killed as gunmen bomb local radio station in Kogi State. A local radio station, Tao FM on frequency 101.9, in Okene, Kogi State was bombed on Monday evening by unknown gunmen. ThisDay reports that an online news medium, Greenbarge Reporters, said the gunmen gained entry into the station through the hilly rear, gunned down the two security men before throwing an explosive into the building housing the station. The report had it that the station was still on fire up till 10p.m. There was no information as to the motive of the gunmen and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, even as the dead and the injured ones have been taken to Okene general hospital. Although there's been no official statement has come from the security agencies in the area, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the station, Dr. Tom Adaba and Commissioner of Information in the state, Hajiya Zainab 0. Suleiman, have confirmed the incident.

Staff of Africa Independent Television, AIT, have been barred from covering all activities of  the President-elect, Gen. Buhari until issues bordering on ethics and standards against them have been addressed. AIT crew members were today escorted out of the Defence House where the president-elect currently resides. He was about to have a meeting with the Cuban and Switzerland ambassadors when the reporters were escorted out. Speaking on the development, the spokesperson of the Buhari campaign organization, Shehu Garba said family and security concerns necessitated it. "AIT has been asked to step aside based on security and family concerns. In addition, Buhari has decided that they will have to resolve some issues relating to issues of standard and ethics. Ondo State Deputy governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi has been impeached by members of the State House of Assembly this morning April 27th. 22 out of the 26 lawmakers supported the motion for his impeachment which was moved by the majority leader Ifedayo Akinsoyinu from Ondo West 11 and seconded by Olatunji Dauro from Owo 11‎. The deputy governor has been directed to vacate the government lodge and return all government property in his possession to the permanent secretary in his office with immediate effect.
